A partnership with Solidwool

Wool in a different form. A strong, beautiful and unique composite material that utilises upland wool, an undervalued material that would normally be considered a ‘waste’ product. Solidwool is a small, forward-thinking company representing design, innovation and conscience.

Innovation.

  • To turn the way we have always worked with wool on its head.

  • To create sustainable design with an unbreakable link to nature.

Wool quality.

  • Welsh mountain sheep have evolved to be extremely hardy with an ability to thrive in harsh environments, such as rugged uplands. This breed graze efficiently on rough pastures and can be used in rotational grazing to help restore lowland areas – above and below the ground.

  • Welsh mountain wool is coarse in texture and often contains kemp (short, coarse hairs).

Welsh mountain wool.

Our partnership with Solidwool is testament to our commitment to sustainable prosperity within our supply chain. By shortening this chain, we ensure that the value we create remains with the very farmers who are essential to our community.

This collaboration has reinvigorated the use of Welsh mountain sheep wool, traditionally considered low-grade and undervalued. By selecting the right wool and farm locations tailored to the end-use of our products, we ensure the use of the hardy, kemp-rich wool required for the Solidwool designs.
